You will also receive a set of preparation and recovery instructions to help you prepare beforehand, as well as a cost estimate for the procedure. Preparation

Dr. Elie Levine will provide detailed preparation instructions that are tailored to your treatment plan and lifestyle. It is essential to follow each instruction as they are designed to ensure your safety and optimize your results.

Instructions often include:

  • Stop using medications and herbal supplements containing blood-thinning properties
  • Cease smoking and other nicotine use, if applicable, several weeks in advance until you have made a complete recovery
  • Arrange transportation to and from your appointment, as well as time away from work and other commitments

Procedure

Surgery will take place at one of our accredited surgical facilities. General anesthesia or twilight anesthesia will be administered to ensure a comfortable procedure. Dr. Elie Levine will use one of three incision techniques. The technique used will be predetermined during your consultation and depends on the degree of breast ptosis (sagging) you are experiencing. The incision techniques include:

  • Circumareolar Incision: A circumareolar incision consists of a single incision being made around the edge of the areola. Also known as the donut incision, this technique is reserved for milder cases of ptosis.
  • Vertical Mastopexy: Commonly referred to as the lollipop incision, this technique is often used for more moderate amounts of breast ptosis. The vertical mastopexy involves placing one incision around the areola, with a second incision that extends vertically down towards the breast crease. This is Dr. Elie Levine’s most commonly performed approach. By preserving more of the natural breast tissue and allowing for precise repositioning, the vertical mastopexy offers long-lasting improvement in both breast shape and projection.
  • Wise Pattern: The Wise Pattern, also known as the anchor incision, is a technique reserved for more extensive corrections. This technique builds off of the vertical mastopexy and places a third incision that extends horizontally along the breast crease.

Once Dr. Elie Levine has placed the necessary incisions, he will reposition the breasts to a more elevated placement on the chest. He will remove excess tissue to achieve perkier, more youthful-looking breasts. If necessary, he may also reposition or reshape your areolas for a more proportionate and symmetrical appearance. (3) Dr. Elie Levine will carefully close the incisions using his exceptional scar-minimizing techniques.

Recovery

Dr. Elie Levine performs his breast lift procedures with a long-lasting pain reliever so that the initial recovery is comfortable. Later on, you can expect to experience swelling, bruising, and tenderness around your breasts; Dr. Elie Levine will provide you with a specialized compression garment that will minimize swelling and support your healing. You will need to wear this garment as directed throughout your recovery.

You may be able to return to work within one to two weeks, but you will need to continue avoiding certain activities, such as physical exercise, for longer. Dr. Elie Levine will let you know when it is appropriate to return to full activities, and will see you at your follow-up appointments to monitor your progress.

Will there be significant scarring seen after my breast lift?
